THE FILHARMONIX CHOIR
The Filharmonix Choir traces its roots to 1995, when it began as the Filharmonics Choir under the loving guidance of Sister Patricia Cashman. With her at the helm, the group sang with heartfelt joy at parish masses and special occasions, their music becoming both ministry and family.
After a brief pause in 2008, the choir found new life under conductor Ronald Seludo. The added “x” in their name marked not just a change in spelling, but a renewal of spirit and purpose. Over the years, the Filharmonix have lent their voices to countless celebrations, concerts, and causes—including Tatlong Koro and A Concert for Sister Pat. Even through the pandemic, they sang on—virtually and in faith—continuing to lift hearts and serve others. Their story is one of friendship, faith, and the unending power of music to bring people together.
Remembering Sister Patricia Cashman
Sister Pat and music were inseparable. Music filled her heart and soul and shaped her relationships with God, her sisters, her students, and choir members. She gave countless piano lessons, trained choirs in high schools for over 20 years, and even took voice lessons to better teach her students. Wherever she served, she generously shared her gifts, inspiring generations of children and adults alike.
Her favorite hymn, “How Can I Keep from Singing?”, reflects her life: devoted, joyful, and inspiring. For 75 years as a Sister of Saint Joseph, Pat gave each day fully to God and to the people she served.
We honor her memory, her music, and her legacy today.
