| Stronger Together:UPCN Class 1965 Leads the Wayby Jovenia Soriano Celo, MD; Chair, Scholarship Committee More than sixty years after they first walked the halls of the UP College of Nursing, the members of UPCN Class 1965 continue to demonstrate what it means to be a community. What began as a desire to give back to the College that helped shape their lives became a collective effort fueled by shared memories, enduring friendships, and a deep sense of gratitude. Rather than making individual donations, classmates chose to pool their contributions, knowing that together they could accomplish far more than any one person could alone. Through their combined gifts, UPCN Class 1965 is helping fund the Dean Teodora Ignacio Professorial Chair, the Dean Leda Layo Danao Professorial Chair, two Academic Excellence Awards, and a Research Feasibility Studies Grant. These initiatives will strengthen teaching, recognize outstanding students, and encourage research that can improve health outcomes for communities in the Philippines and beyond. Imagine what your batch, college, department, fraternity, sorority, or alumni group could accomplish by following their example. Reach out to your batchmates. Start the conversation. Organize a class or college fundraising effort. Pool your gifts and create a lasting legacy for the UP community. |

| Investing in the Future On June 17, UPAAA met with new donor Dr. Tony Ligeralde and members of the UP School of Economics Scholarship Committee to explore ways of expanding support for students in need. Dr. Ligeralde shared a strong commitment to giving back and helping students overcome financial barriers to complete their education. We look forward to working with him to strengthen pathways for alumni and friends to support deserving students—and to encourage more alumni to join in investing in the next generation of UP graduates. |
