Why donors use DAFs:

  • Simplifies charitable giving

Matching Gift Programs

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that double or even triple employee donations to nonprofit organizations.  Some employers even match donations of retired employees.

How matching gifts help:

  • Increase the impact of your contribution at no additional cost

  • Strengthen partnerships between UPAAA and corporate supporters

Check with your employer’s Human Resources (HR) department or matching gift portal to see if your donation qualifies.

Planned Giving & Legacy Gifts

Planned giving allows you to support UPAAA beyond your lifetime while meeting personal, family, or estate planning goals.

Common planned giving options include:

  • Bequests through a will or living trust

  • Naming UPAAA as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy

  • Charitable trusts or annuities (with professional guidance)

Legacy gifts help ensure UPAAA’s mission continues for future generations of Iskolar ng Bayan.

MATCHING GIFT PROGRAMS

From a UP Alumna:

"I initially donated $100 (to UPAAA) in April 2025, and the 10:1 match of $1k from (employer) was sent in June 2025." This 1:10 match is amazing!

"I initially donated $500 (to UPAAA) in Nov 2024, and the 2:1 match of $1k from (employer) was sent in Q1 2025."

The impact of her donations to UPAAA

1. Assisted three Accounting graduates of UP Visayas with expenses for the CPA review course and examination in 2025.  They all passed!

2.  Contributed to expenses of UP Visayas High School (Iloilo) students attending a STEM convention in Japan.

These Matching Gift Programs are set up by some companies and corporations as an employee benefit, even for retired employees in some cases. When an employee donates to a nonprofit, like UPAAA, they submit a matching gift request to their employer.  The company will make an additional donation to the nonprofit.

Ask your company's Human Relations Officer (HR) if your company participates in a Matching Gift Program and the rules/regulations the company follows.

Some of the companies with Matching Gift programs are British Petroleum (BP); Gap, Inc.; Deloitte; Johnson & Johnson; Pfizer; Bristol Myers Squib; IBM; Avon; American Express.

Do you know billions of $$$ for matching gifts are left on the table each year?
