Happy Holidays

From the Office of the UP President

The University of the Philippines (UP), the nation’s premier public university, educates over 60,000 students and employs more than 16,000 faculty and staff across its campuses. As a state university, UP relies heavily on government funding for its operations—making it vulnerable to shifting political priorities, budget cuts, and economic instability.

This financial uncertainty threatens UP’s ability to provide quality education, retain top faculty, support research, and ensure that deserving students from all backgrounds can access and thrive in the university.

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association in America (UPAAA) exists to address this critical gap. We unite alumni and supporters to mobilize resources, share expertise, and champion initiatives that strengthen UP and empower its students and faculty—helping secure the future of higher education in the Philippines.

WHO WE ARE

University of the Philippines Seal and Motto. The seal features an eagle on a shield with three icons representing agriculture, engineering, and medicine.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit composed of alumni and supporters of the University of the Philippines.

We bring together individuals from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, creating a network that transcends borders. Through this network, we collaborate on initiatives that support UP’s mission of academic excellence, public service, and nation-building.

We facilitate the provision of financial and professional support within the UP system, assisting deserving students with limited resources, alumni seeking further education, and faculty members dedicated to impactful roles

in nation-building.

OUR IMPACT
