A highly productive, inspiring, and fun-filled 18th UPAAA General Assembly, Convention and Reunion, took place at the Wyndham Bayside in San Diego, CA last October 9-11, 2015. UPAAA President Dr. Juanita Santos Nacu was ably supported by her fellow members of the UP Alumni Association of San Diego led by Rita Buencamino Andrews, President.
The Convention theme, "UP Alumni As Agents of Effective Change: A Call To Action" rekindled past memories of youth activism with the rallying call attributed to Abraham "Ditto" Sarmiento, "Kung hindi tayo kikilos, sino ang kikilos? Kung hindi tayo kikibo, sino ang kikibo? Kung hindi ngayon, kailan pa?" The plenary sessions and panel speakers, all UP alumni, shared invaluable life experiences that made them effective agents of change in their own communities and workplaces. Read more...

by Ruby Leah Ordinario Agnir
Vice President for the South
UPAAA Distinguished Alumna Awardee
for Culture and the Arts
